Process-driven biometric identification by means of autonomic grid components

چکیده
Today’s business applications are increasingly process driven, meaning that the main application logic is executed by a dedicate process engine. In addition, component-oriented software development has been attracting attention for building complex distributed applications. In this paper, we present the experiences gained from building a process-driven biometric identification application that makes use of grid infrastructures via the Grid Component Model (GCM). GCM, besides guaranteeing access to grid resources, supports autonomic management of notable parallel composite components. This feature is exploited within our biometric identification application to ensure real-time identification of fingerprints. Therefore, we briefly introduce the GCM framework and the process engine used, and we describe the implementation of the application by means of autonomicGCMcomponents. Finally, we summarise the results, experiences and lessons learned focusing on the integration of autonomic GCM components and the process-driven approach.

متن کاملMessage-based cellular peer-to-peer grids: foundations for secure federation and autonomic services
We examine the creation of peer-to-peer Grids in which autonomous Grid components (“Gridlets”) may be federated into dynamic Grid collections. We examine two important aspects of these systems: federated security and autonomic considerations. As we discuss, both may be implemented using a messaging system as a substrate. Messaging systems provide the means of bridging Gridlet realms, organizing...
متن کاملIdentification of Two Main Independent Components of Fibrillating Heart Muscle
Fibrillation is a hazardous phenomenon in cardiac muscle and so any new work towards the understanding of this process is important to the development of new methods in diagnosis and therapy. In this work we have used surface and intra cardiac ECGs of patients with chronic atrial fibrillation (AF). By means of the blind source separation (BSS) algorithm, which is a well-known method in signal p...
متن کاملApplication of Grid-Enabled Technologies for Solving Optimization Problems in Data-Driven Reservoir Studies
This paper presents the use of numerical simulations coupled with optimization techniques in oil reservoir modeling and production optimization. We describe three main components of an autonomic oil production management framework. The framework implements a dynamic, data-driven approach and enables Grid-based large scale optimization formulations in reservoir modeling.
متن کاملApplication of Colored Petri Nets for Modeling of Biometric Identification Protocol with Random Parameter
Biometric Identification Protocol with Random Parameter is modelled in the current paper by using Petri Nets, namely with the modern extension of Petri Nets-Colored Petri Nets. The purpose of modelling Biometric Identification Protocol with Random Parameter by the use of Petri Nets is to reveal the following aspects of the functioning model: The efficiency of the model; Behaviour; The existence...
